A damp basement is rarely caused by just one problem.
A homeowner contacted us after noticing damp issues in the basement.
Because the visible symptoms didn’t explain the full picture, we inspected the entire drainage system above — and that’s when the real causes became clear.
💧 First issue:
The sealing between the drain channel and the drainpipe had failed.
Instead of flowing inside the pipe, rainwater was running down the outside and soaking directly into the supporting pillar below.
🔍 Second issue (found using our pipe inspection camera):
A crack inside the pipe itself was allowing water to leak straight into the wall and pillar.
Without a camera inspection, this hidden leak would have continued causing damage unnoticed.
To fix the problem properly, we opened the area and rebuilt the drainage connection from the ground up:
✔️ Removed the old, faulty drainage
✔️ Replaced the cracked section of pipe
✔️ Applied our UV- and temperature-resistant waterproof sealant
✔️ Formed a new, fully watertight channel
✔️ Sealed the connection to the falling pipe
✔️ Ensured all water now flows where it should — inside the system, not into the structure
With the water source from above fully eliminated, the final step is renewing the pillar below.
By addressing both the failed sealing and the damaged pipe, the homeowner can now rely on a dry, safe, and protected basement again.
Another long-lasting solution. Another client with peace of mind. 🏠✨
